William Edward Wilson, Sr.

The Lord has fitted our beloved William E. Wilson, Sr. "Bill" with his wings. William was born January 13, 1944 and took flight from this earth on May 18, 2021 at Accordius Health at Nans Pointe, Suffolk, Virginia. William was the second child born to Daniel E. and Alice Wilson who predeceased him. Early in life he was married to Carrie Young. William loved the sport of baseball and played shortstop with the Ivor Tigers under the management of his father Daniel Wilson. He also loved to go fishing and he loved football. He was a true died hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved eating home cooked food especially pig's feet. William leaves to cherish his memory his sons; William E. Wilson, Jr., "Bill Jr." Suffolk, VA and Phalonda Warren, Newport News, VA, two sisters; Mary Jean Wilson Kendall, Baltimore, Maryland and Shirley W. Boone (Lorinza) Suffolk, VA; a host of nieces and nephews, a very close and devoted friend Bobbie Stevenson, Suffolk, VA and a loving person who is like a sister Lucy W. Uzzle Gray. A Graveside Celebration will be held 11am Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Chapel Grove U.C.C. Viewing will take place Friday, May 21, 2021 from 4-6pm at Shivers funeral Chapel.
