Wilbur Winslow

On July 30, 2017 God called one of His precious angels home. Wilbur Jackson Winslowwas born on August 18, 1943 to the late Edwin Winslow and Mozelle Crocker Winslow. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and a retired worker from Newport News Shipyard after 20 plus years of work. "Paul" as he was known by family and friends was the husband of Pearl A. James (Newport News, VA) at one time. He was preceded in death by one of his daughters Benita A. Winslow, his brother Pernell Winslow and his biological twin Hilda W. Wells Those surviving include his daughters, Anissa L. Winslow of Newport News, VA, and LaTicia J. Hall (Armsby IV) of Rockford, IL, his siblings James W. L. Winslow (Lucy) of Newport News,VA and Josephine W. Bynum of Washington, D.C., Curley Winslow (Quanita) of Boston, Massachusetts, Shirley W. Moore (William) of Williamsburg, VA, Edward C. Winslow (Barbara) of Smithfield VA, and Elaine K. Benson of Washington D.C.. He also has five grandchildren, Krystle S. Cooperwood, Shakiah J. Brown, Kishawn D. Winslow, Kishauna C. Winslow, JaVonte' T. Wharton and three great grandchildren, Kayvoni A. Cooperwood, Khaliel D. Cooperwood, and Kaitlynn A. Rhyne. He was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the chapel. Interment will be in the Emmanuel Baptist Church cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the chapel.
