Tillie Robinson Jeffers

Tillie Jeffers , 92 was born Tillie Robinson on December 25, 1930 to Hattie of North Carolina and Harry Robinson of Surry, VS. She grew up in Salisbury, MD with her grandma Annie and Sister Annie may before moving to Virginia. While living in Norfolk with her father Tillie attended Waterford Elementary and graduated from St Jerome Catholic School. In the early 1960’s  Tillie decided to leave the country life of Virginia and move up to the north to the city of Newark where her sister Annie May was residing. A few years later Annie Mae and her husband Rais Jeffers, Jr introduced Tillie to her future husband Charlie Lee Jeffers. Soon after that they got married and moved to the Red Oaks Community in Smithfield, VA and created lasting memories with family and friends until her last breath Thursday October 19, 2023.

She is survived by her loving and devoted spouse Charlie Jeffers, her two daughters: Virginia Robinson of Newport News, VA and Sonya Allen of Newark, New Jersey, her grandchildren Sherell Robinson, Gary (Heather) Robinson,  Dannette (Lenny) Johnson, Quianna Robinson, Sakinah (Jerry) Mackey, Danny (Jessica) Thomas, Jr., Marcus and  and Darius Allen, her great grandchildren;Jea’ Nasia and Judah Depas, Mikal, Mikiah and Malik Robinson , Kylam and YaMirah Robinson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00pm on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the Service on Sunday.  The interment will be private.
