Tahesha Saunders

Tahesha L. Saunders “Ty” transitioned on August 3, 2023.  She was born on October 8, 1987, to Linwood and Monica Saunders. She was a current resident of Newport News Va, however raised and native to Smithfield VA.

She currently worked as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at United Empire. She often expressed joy working with the clients. Ty loved her children and family dearly; she loved having a good time with family eating crabs or just gathering, “We all we got” was her motto. 

From an early age she loved dancing, listening to music and spending time with her loved ones. Her favorite color was red, and she loved Mickey Mouse.  

She is preceded in death by her father Linwood Saunders, and her sister Nina Greene. She leaves to cherish in her memory, her mother, Monica Saunders, grandmother, Roxie Greene, four sons; Jymir Butler, Jysuan Butler, Zhyir Saunders, and Zhyrion Saunders. two daughters; Zhyria Saunders and Nina Saunders.  Her brothers, Montreal Saunders and Dennis Crew, her sisters, Deanna, Adrianne, Shelly, Lisa, and Patricia, her nephew Nymel Greene and niece, Nykeya Greene.  one uncle, Lawrence, and four aunts, Joan, Patricia, Bonnie, and Andrea and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Shivers Funeral Chapel.  Viewing will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023  from 3-6pm at the chapel. Please keep the Saunders family in your thoughts and prayers.
