Sylvia Hunt

Sylvia J. Hunt was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Sylvia was born November 22, 1954, to the late Williard M. Hunt, Sr. and Jeannette Hunt. Sylvia is a graduate of Smithfield High School. She worked for Industrial 3M in Sanford, North Carolina as a Quality Control Inspector. After twenty plus years of service she retired from the company in 2020. Sylvia was a member of Cliffdale Christian Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She faithfully served on the Nursery and Greeter Ministries. She also attended Ministers-In-Training sessions for a brief period. She enjoyed fellowshipping, working and a variety of foods. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Williard M. Hunt, Sr. and Jeannette Hunt. Sylvia leaves to cherish her loving memory one son, Jessie Knight, Jr. of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren Kiana Askew and Tiara Askew of Jacksonville, FL and Jayden Griffith of Little Rock, AK; siblings; Williard Hunt, Jr. (Ida) and Phyllis Townsend (Kirt) of Smithfield, VA, Gloria Townsend (Tony) of Fayetteville, NC and Ricky Hunt (Alice) of Suffolk, VA; seven nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 3-6pm at the chapel.
