Though Stephen’s Life on this earth was short, he left an enormous impact on the lives of everyone he encountered. Stephen is a 2017 graduate of Bethel High School. He started his career as a crew member at McDonald’s. With lots of hard work and dedication, he became a shift manager before moving to the next phase of his employment career.
At the time of his death, he was a n employee of Huntington Ingalls Industries, working on the USS John C. Stennis CVN 74 in X33C. While continuing his hard work and dedication in the yard, he was most passionate and serious about “loving on and spending time with his family, especially his “Godkids.” Beyond that, he loved to bowl and to focus on perfecting his music endeavors—self-regulating and directing his creative energies and entrepreneurial insight in music production. To satisfy his thirst and love for music, he wrote songs, as well as created “beats” for several up-and-coming musicians, to include those of his own, being known by stage names such as the “Official SauceGxd” & “KingProphetTPG.” As a matter of fact, he was recently finishing up and planning the release of his album titled “Rodeo.” He often credited his grandmother, Jocelyn Morant, as the person who caused him to love making music, as he deliberately followed the family’s innate music DNA and footprint toward that end.
An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved to bowl as a sports hobby. Stephen was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Davis, and grandfather, Kurt Hare, as well as an infant sister, Helen Jocelyn Pierce. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Naomi Morant-Davis Pierce and Stephen R. Davis Sr.; brothers, Dvonte’ Randell Morant & Daniel Allen Davis; a sister, Kamiyah Morris; maternal grandparents, Jocelyn Johnson Morant and Jeffrey Allen Morant. Extended family members surviving are several aunts, uncles and first cousins: namely Natalie Roberts (David)—David II, Jonathan, Nathan, Nahalie; LaSheena Morant—Sherrod; Carlton “CJ” Morant (Rahsheedah)—Chaim, Yaqwarah, Zuriel, Carlton Jr.; Mariana Morant—Egypt; Stephanie Overby (Ashlie)—Jalen, Ashlie Jr., Jason, Cacelyn); Paul Morant—Paul Jr.; Larry Davis, Deon Davis, and a dedicated great-aunt, Paula Johnson—Brison, Juleyah, NyAsia.
He also leaves behind a trove of other great aunts and great uncles, cousins, church members, friends, and co-workers, who complement this loving and tightly-knit familial village of care. Keep our family in prayer, as we continue to adjust to life without Stephen—as he is greatly missed, but with the knowledge that “He” who made him is still in control and His perfect will is done. Stephen’s mission here on earth is complete, and God called him home.
