Sarah Taliaferro

On Friday, January 25, 2019, our devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and a friend, Sarah Tynes Taliaferro was peacefully called home. We know she is now at rest with our heavenly father. Sarah Tynes Taliaferro, was born on October 8, 1925 to Eddie Tynes and Mollie D. Tynes. She was a student at the Isle of Wight Training School. On January 21, 1946, Sarah married the love of her life, the late James I. Taliaferro, and from that beautiful union, they were blessed with 10 children, Harry, Mary, Doreatha, Herman, Ray, James Jr., Rowland, Earl, Linda, and Charles. She loved her family and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a Godly woman that loved to worship in the house of the Lord, and study his word. She was a member of Sweet Haven Holy Church of GOD, in Carrollton, VA. Prior to her illness, Sarah was a dedicated member of the Usher Board, Hospitality Team, and the choir. Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Tynes; mother, Mollie D Tynes, brothers, William Tynes, Edward Tynes, Arbie Tynes, Irene Tynes, and her husband James Taliaferro. She leaves to cherish and treasure her loving memories 10 children; Harry Taliaferro (Mable) of Carrollton, VA, Mary Taliaferro of Lorton, VA; Doreatha Picott (the late Larry Picott), of Upper Marlboro, MD; Herman (the late Brenda Taliaferro) of Smithfield, VA; Ray Taliaferro (Barbara) of Hampton, VA; James Taliaferro Jr. (Patricia) of Newport News, VA; Rowland Taliaferro (Gale) of Smithfield, VA.; Earl Taliaferro of Newport News, VA; Linda Vinson ( John) of Fayetteville, NC; and Charles Taliaferro (LaTisha) of Hampton, VA. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends that adored her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Tuesday January 29, 2019 at Sweet Haven Holy Church of God Carrollton, VA. The viewing will take place on Monday January 28, 2019 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Professional services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Tuesday January 29, 2019 at Sweet Haven Holy Church of God Carrollton, VA. The viewing will take place on Monday January 28, 2019 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Professional services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
