Sarah Ann Spratley Robinson entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Friday April 29,2022 while a patient at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia. She was widow to the late Smith Allen Robinson, Jr., and enjoyed 37 years of marriage before he deceased. Mrs. Robinson was born on July 30, 1945 to the late James Arthur Spratley and Sarah Lee Alston Spratley. She resided in Smithfield, Virginia where she was employed with Smithfield Packing Company above twenty years. Additionally, she was employed with the Isle of Wight County Public Schools for twenty years prior to retirement. She was a devoted employee to both employers over a forty-year span. While a young lady, Mrs. Robinson expressed belief in the historical man Jesus the Christ and came to embrace a strong faith in the Resurrected Christ, submitted to baptism, and joined the Main Street Baptist Church. The Church afforded her opportunities for service in the Choirs, and Hospitality ministries. It was through these service and fellowship opportunities and serving her family that her faith and personal relationship with her Lord grew stronger. Mrs. Robinson was known to be a sweet, kind, loving and giving person. She thrived as a devoted wife and mother. She loved strongly and deeply her family and manifested that love in sponsoring and supporting the family gatherings. Her great loves were cooking, gardening, and watching old western movies. She is greatly missed by all. Mrs. Robinson was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Frank L. Spratley, Sr., Ida Rose Spratley, and Lillie Johnson; Remaining to cherish her memory and their love for Mrs. Robinson are her three children: Monica Robinson Artis (Smithfield, VA); Sonja Robinson (Suffolk, VA); and Shelia Robinson (Smithfield, VA); four grandchildren, Angel Brumley, Christian Artis, Charity Artis, and Jada Robinson; five great-grandchildren, Amoni Torres, Patience Brumley, Myaha Brumley, Michelle Brumley, and (soon to come Grace Brumley); Siblings, Sandra Banks, Eva Davis and James Spratley, Jr. Brother-in-laws, Ray Parker, Sr., Clarence Parker, Jr., Victor Robinson and Stacy Robinson; Sister-in-laws, Linda Spratley, Barbara Piker, Diane Hunt, Shelia Robinson, Sandra Porter, Stephanie Townsend, Cheryl Robinson and Geraldine Parker (deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am at The Main Street Church Mission Center on Saturday, May 07, 2022.
