Rosa Wilson entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022 in Williamsburg VA. Sadness entered within our hearts but, the happy memories with our Mother and loved one will be cherished until we meet in heaven. She was born on her mother’s birthday, February 1, 1937 in Isle of Wight County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Norman L. and Magalene R. Goodwin. She was a true believer in God and accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Mt Calvary HCOG for many years as a faithful servant of God. She was in the graduating class of 1955 of Isle of Wight County Training School. She married Melvin “Hog B” Wilson, Sr. on August 22, 1958 and had three children: two sons and a daughter. They were married for fifty years until Melvin passed away in May 2009. She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and much more. She was a secretary at Hardy Elementary School in Smithfield, VA for many years before retiring in 1981. She was well known for the tomatoes she grew in her garden. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, singing her favorite song “Over Troubled Waters,” cooking, making homemade wines, watching western shows and so much more. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin Wilson, Sr., two sisters: Ernestine G. Turner and Alma G. White and a brother Edwin Goodwin. She leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons; Reginald “Reggie” Wilson, Richmond, VA and Ken Wilson (Atalie) Norfolk, VA; a daughter Cheryl Wilson, Smithfield, VA, three stepchildren; Vivian Cowling, Melvin “June” Wilson, Jr., and Howard Whitehead, five grandchildren; Craig Wilson, Lateisha Wilson-Turner(Ashley), Raja Wilson, Aliyah Wilson and Ken Wilson, Jr., three great grandchildren; Trevor Jr., Tymir, and Reza Cai, two sisters; Barbara Wynn and Marjorie Martin, Hampton, VA, three brothers; Collins Robinson (Lucy) Petersburg, VA, Bishop Marshall Goodwin (Barbara), Suffolk, VA and Richard Williams, Portsmouth, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Phillip Pentecostal Church Suffolk, VA.
