When I've gone the last mile of the way.
On Saturday, March 31, 2018 our husband , brother and uncle transitioned to be with his father.Robert Cornelius Wrenn was born November 13, 1938 to the late Wesley C and Vivian Roberts Wrenn.
As a child he joined EmmanuelBaptist Church where he remained, becoming a Trustee and attending faithfully until his health failed. Cornelius was educated in the Isle of Wight County School system graduating from Isle of Wight Training School in 1957.He immediately went to work for Gwaltney Inc. (now Smithfield Foods) where he drove tractor trailer trucks for 51 years. During this time "Santa Claus" was cited with many awards including the designation of The Six Million Mile (without a chargeable accident) Man.
In June of 1963, he was joined in holy wedlock to MyrteenLouise Green. To this union, was born Shawn Angelette Wrenn who predeceased her father.In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by brothers Capt. Norris C Wrenn, Sr. and Sheridan Bernard Wrenn Sr.
Cornelius is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years Myrteen G Wrenn, sisters; Marion V Wrenn and Edna P Holloway, aunt, Mable Wrenn, special cousin, Lillie Fields, Sisters in love, Vernell H. Wrenn and Vivian Wrenn David. Nieces; Gail, Monica, Tami, Yolanda, Crystal, Jennifer and Courtney. Nephews; Sheridan Jr.,Djuan, Chris, Jason, Chad, Charles and Norris. He will be greatly missed by Chaya(ChaCha)and Tahya(Too Too), his special great nieces. Precious memories are left to numerous other great nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
I will rest at the close of the day A Service of Remembrance will be held 12:00pm Friday, April 6, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 4-7pmwith the family receiving friends from 6-7pm at the chapel. Interment will be in the Emmanuel Baptist Church cemetery.
