Robert Lee Osborne

On August 2, 2017, at11:28 p.m.Robert "Bob" Lee Osborne was called home to be with the Lord.Robert was born on September 14, 1953 in Surry, Virginia to Rosa Lee Osborne-Lawrence and the late John Osborne.Robert attended school in Newport News, Virginia and Pleasantville, New Jersey.

Bob was employed with Smithfield Foods until his health declined and he was no longer able to work.He enjoyed spending time with his wife, the love of his life, his only daughter and his grandchildren.He was a caring person who was always willing to help those in need.He loved his hometown of Smithfield where "the grass grows greener".He also loved his hot rides and Ford cars because they were the best and built tough.He had a love for his old school music and drag racing.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Patricia Osborne; one daughter Venlinza Osborne; two grandchildren Jakhya and Jiyon Osborne; two adopted grandchildren ZaMiyah and Deonta Jefferson Jr.; four sisters Veronica Osborne, Patricia Spratley (Melvin), Sandra Smith (Doug), Martha Hughes (Avery); four brothers Linwood Osborne, Larry Osborne (Rachel), Carl Osborne (Elsie), Dennis Osborne (Vera); five sisters-in-law Josephine Harris, Patricia Harris, Earlene Harris, Drucilla James (Jessie) and the late Ollie Harris; four brothers-in-law Aaron Harris, Allen Harris and the late Leland Harris and Sherod Claiborne; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the chapel. Interment will be in the First Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, Va. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
