On January 1, 2022, God sent the Angel to come and carry Ricky “Hot Dog” Outland home. A Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend was who he was to us.
Hot Dog worked at Smithfield Packing for over 30 years. When he wasn’t working, he spent his days riding his motorcycle or cleaning his beloved car. Hot Dog was an active member of Mass Production Motorcycle Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae and John Arthur Outland, and his brother Troy Outland.
He is survived by his four children, Sharon Ricks, Tiffany Johnson, Jennifer Lamberson (Deon), and Rick Baker; five grandchildren, Dontorious Ricks, Keshonda Ricks, Micah Reddick, Kshaun Brown, and Arielle Bowser; one great granddaughter, Raelynn Charles; two sisters, April Outland, and Miranda Bryant; two brothers Reggie and Wayne Outland; one Aunt Elizabeth Brown, one godson Charles “CJ” Pittman Jr., devoted friend Cathy Blow, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 pm Saturday January 8, 2022 at Main Street Baptist Church Mission Center BY INVITATION ONLY. Viewing will take place from 4-6 pm Friday, January 7, 2022 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Outland family in your thoughts and prayers.
