Richard C. Sawyer

Richard "Dick" Conrad Sawyer, 76, of Windsor, Va., passed away Sept. 22, 2020. He was born in Windsor, Virginia, the son of the late Joseph S. Sawyer and Katherine Elizabeth Holland Edwards. Dick will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, his extraordinary artistic abilities, and a world of knowledge that he leaves behind in his children to pass down to their own. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Sawyer. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Rowan Sawyer Cranfield and Graham Cranfield of Richmond, Va., Morgan Kathleen Sawyer of Richmond, Va.; son and daughter-in-law Ryan Conrad Sawyer and Kennedy Holmes of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Olivia Elise Sawyer, Alice Morgan Cranfield, Oscar Conrad Cranfield, Roman Conrad Sawyer; mother of his children Kathleen Mary O'Brien of Windsor, Va.; two sisters, Melissa Sawyer and Joyce Larkin (Ed); one brother, Paul Edwards (Gail). In lieu of flowers the family requests consideration of a memorial donation to the Isle of Wight County Animal Shelter. A memorial service will be held at a later date when Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Please keep the Sawyer- Obrien in your thoughts and prayers.
