Renee “Jitterbug” Banks

Renee J. “Jitterbug” Banks 71, of Smithfield, VA entered into eternal rest at Sentara Norfolk General on May 9, 2023.

Jit was born to the late John W. Banks and the late Thomas Reese Banks on November 25, 1951

After high school, Jit went to work at Smithfield Packing. After a few years there he worked for VDOT. Later on, he became self employed as a handyman where he did odd jobs for any and everybody. He was well known and loved by many and didn’t mind helping anyone in need.

Jit was preceded in death by both parents and one brother MacArthur Banks.

Jit leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Tenisha Greene of Smithfield, VA; three grandchildren Ty’Ani,  Ty’Mia and Ja’Taiveon Rowland all of Smithfield, VA; three sisters, Elder Dr. Gloria Mason of Surry, VA, Alicia “Lisa”: Delk of Charlotte, NC and Patricia” Pat” Evans of Hampton, VA; two brothers Theodore” Teddy” Evans of Newport News, VA and Bruce “Wayne” Evans of Sandston, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 12pm Friday, May 19, 2023 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Banks family in your thoughts and prayers.
