Reginald O'Neal Nichols, 38, passed away on March 28, 2017 at his home in Clayton, NC. Reginald was born on August 1, 1978 to Valerie Nichols Coffield and the late Walter Leon Ricks of Southampton County. "Reggie", as he was called, gave his life to Christ at an early age. He graduated from Windsor High School with a full scholarship to Virginia State University. Reggie was employed at Summit Stairs and Millwork and worked as a builder and delivery driver. He was an official referee for flag football and he put ample hours of time in to volunteer to help youth by coaching football and basketball. This included Parks and Rec. teams in Way County Raleigh, NC. He enjoyed playing and watching sports which included football, basketball, baseball and golf. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. Reggie will be remembered for his funny jokes and overly caring heart. Reggie was preceded in death by his grandmothers Susie Anna Nichols and Corine Ricks (Willie). He is survived by his mother Valerie Nichols Coffield and stepfather Walter L. Coffield, Windsor, VA; two sisters, Rosheena Nichols (Vinton Kelly), Suffolk, VA and Brianna Ricks, Richmond, VA; two brothers, Kelvin Jackson, Jr., Windsor, VA and Bobbie Cotten (Kaliah Hooper) Clayton, NC; two God sisters, Sharvie Stith, Southampton County and Keonna Turner, Franklin, VA; one step sister, Shantice Cofield (Xavion, Nathan) Charlotte, NC; one step brother, Travontaye Cofield (Holly, Chase, Matayshia) Elizabeth City, NC; two nieces, Jordynn Kelly and Khloe Cotten; and two nephews, Khalil Cotten and Carter Peterson; three aunts, Cheryl Nichols (Detrick & Kimberly and D'Anna), Eugenia Butts and Mamie Howell (Alton); eight uncles, Raymond Nichols (Pam), Gregory Nichols (Janice), Milton Nichols, James Butts (Kim), Alvin Brown (Ernestine), Troy Ricks (JoAnne), Christopher Ricks and Barry Ricks (Angela); a Godmother, LaVerne Wrenn, and a host of cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Windsor, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Windsor, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
