Ray M. Delk, Jr.

Ray M. Delk Jr. 78, was born to the late Ray M. Delk and Ruth T. Newby-Butler on November 4, 1945 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center.

Ray was well known by many to be a very hardworking man who never stopped working even up to his last days. He spent 30 long years at Newport News Shipyard where he held a position a Welder. He also spent many years as an entrepreneur logging, cutting grass and gardening. 

He was preceded in death by his brother George “Coon” Delk, sister, Thelma Butler, sister Anne Few and daughter Takiesha Lanette Holloman. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter Elisha Raye Cypress (Beezy), son Brandon K. Cypress, son Antonio Lamont Holloman. Grandchildren; Khemet R. Robinson, Kameron M. White, Destiny 0. White, Adciauna D. White, Ayden D. White, Chamell D. Ashley and a  host of other grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Viewing will take place on Thursday July 25, 2024 from 3-6pm at the chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Shivers Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be private.  Please keep the Delk family in your thoughts and prayers.
