Ramon N. Kendall III

Ramon Navarro Kendall, III (63), husband of Mary Jean Wilson Kendall, departed this life on December 15, 2017.

Ray was born March 27, 1954 to the late Ramon Kendall, Jr. and his living mother Florence Kendall. Ray was educated in the Portsmouth school system and graduated from Craddock High School in 1972. He went on to attend Norfolk State University. He attended CIAA Training. Ray was an active baseball player for several years.F or the past 17 years, he worked for the International Longshoremen's Association as a Crane Operator until his health failed in 2016. Ray was an avid New York Giants fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Florence Kendall, Concord, North Carolina; 3 sons, Ramon Kendall, IV, Norfolk, Virginia, Dante Kendall (Dawn), Virginia Beach, Virginia, Kristopher Odom (Felicia),Portsmouth, Virginia; 1daughter, Kendra Kendall (George), Virginia Beach, Virginia: 4 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Valerie Kendall, Jacqueline Kendall, Norfolk, Virginia, Rae Michelle Folston, Portsmouth, Virginia; 4 stepchildren, Charles Uzzle, Jr., Trina Kirkland (Donald), Baltimore, Maryland, Tracy Evans (Riley), Windsor, Virginia; Spencer Uzzle, Portsmouth, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11am Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Interment will be in the Chapel Grove United Church of Christ cemetery Windsor, Va. Professional services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
