When Morolyn was not serving in some form at church she was serving the community. From 2009 until 2014 she volunteered her services to the Isle of Wight Christian Outreach Program. She would help to pack and deliver groceries to those in need in the community.

Morolyn married Ronnie L. Batten in 1992 and moved to Smithfield, Virginia. And they were blessed with a daughter, Danielle S. Batten and stepdaughter, Dominque R. Batten. Morolyn was a devoted Mother and cherished her daughter.

Morolyn loved her family; she enjoyed planning and participating in family gatherings. She would spoil both her family and friends with her famous homemade ice cream of many flavors. She was called by some the “Ice Cream Lady”. Growing up Morolyn played Basketball and Softball; and was nominated Most Athletic Player of the Year her senior year of high school.
