1933 - Life Reflections of Mother Mary D. Bryant Rowe's Sacred Journey - 2015 "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course; I have kept the faith"2 Timothy 4:7 God summoned His daughter, Mary D. Bryant Rowe to take her victory walk into His eternal paradise on July 26, 2015. Quietly, her earthly life ended that began in a similar fashion on March 14, 1933, in the Silverdale Community of Maysville, North Carolina. The years in between (1933-2015) document a humble life of love, a committed and faithful life to God, a nurturing devotion to her family and friends, and treasured memories of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Mary D. Bryant Rowe was born on March 14, 1933 in Onslow County to the late Lenster Bryant and the late Bessie White Bryant. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Pastor Jacie C. Rowe; brothers - Raymond, Norman, Sedrick, John, Emanuel, and Milton; sisters - Ella, Alice, and Bessie; daughter - Mary; and grandchildren-Kent, Collins, & Cullen Jr. She attended public schools in Maysville, NC. She was a hard worker employed by several hospitals in Detroit, MI. She was a jewel who was likable, generous, independent, friendly, love to talk about Jesus, a fervent prayer warrior, an anointed leader and teacher of a home Bible study group in Detroit, an avid gardener, and she enjoyed her flower bed. She enjoyed eating fish right down to the bone. She cut her own grass until the early part of being 82 years of age. She was committed and faithful in her spiritual walk with God. Her favorite songs she loved to sing were "I Can't Live Without You" and "There Is A Storm Out Over The Ocean". Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91. While in Smithfield, VA she was a member of Muddy Cross UCC; she later joined Sweet Haven Holiness Church until she relocated to Detroit, MI. She served as First Lady at her husband church in Detroit, MI. After his passing she joined Word of Faith Church where she served as a leader and teacher to a home cell bible study group. Until her earthly departure, she was an active member of Power of Faith Ministries International Church under the leadership of Rev. H. L. Butts (Pastor) and Rev. Lora Butts (Co-Pastor), where she served as Mother of the church. In her union with the late Robert M. Crawley, Sr., they had nine children. She leaves eight children to cherish her precious memories and celebrate her Homegoing - daughters - Rev. Patricia Crawley-Ricks (Cullen) of Chesapeake, Barbara Spratley - Smithfield, Carolyn Wells - VA Beach, Tracey Holloway (Rufus) - Newport News, Regina Crawley - Hampton, Terry Crawley - Newport News, Argidene Godwin (Vernon) - Hampton; one son - Robert M. Crawley, Jr. - Norfolk; Three brothers Rudolph Bryant (Dollie), & James Bryant -Detroit, MI, Zollie Bryant of NC, & one sister, Vandella Beauford Detroit, MI. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her family and friends will always remember her because she left many precious memories and she was an example of a godly woman whose life will never be forgotten by all those who loved and knew her. "Dears One, Mom is home in heaven, so happy and so bright. There is perfect joy and beauty in the everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, over restless tossing past. She is now at peace forever, safely at home with her Father in heaven at last." Her Funeral service will be on Friday, July 31, 2015, at 11 am at New Bethany United Church of Christ, 15496 Benns Church Blvd., Smithfield. Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 4 pm to 7 p.m. at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield.Burial Date July 31, 2015
