Marcus Durand Mitchell

Marcus Durand Mitchell 37, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Michigan. Marcus Durand Mitchell was born August 16, 1984 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Deborah Livermon and Marvetus Mitchell. Marcus attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Northern High School in 2002. He also attended Mott College where he graduated with an Associate Degree. Marcus was employed at Game Shop Store where he began as a Worker and became the Manager. He loved video games, family and friends. Marcus was very knowledgeable about video games and cars. He loved sports too. Marcus was very kind, loving and generous. He was very responsible and loved children very much. Marcus Durand Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Deborah Livermon and Marvetus Mitchell; grandmother, Shirley Holloway; sisters, Ciera Mitchell and Anita Mitchell; brothers, Michael (Takelia) Derricks and Johnatan Mitchell (Staevia Dozier); aunts, Dawn Livermon, Andrea Pope, Regina Cofer, Patricia (Edwin) Williams and Shelia (Michael) Ashburn, all of Virginia, Frances Dell Mitchell of Tennessee, Arnita (Benton) Cox of Dyersburg, TN, Pearlie Mae Mitchell, Bet Mitchell and Melene Mitchell, all of Tennessee; uncles, Victor Livermon of Virginia, Jeffrey (Lisa) Mitchell and Joe Eddie (Teresa) Mitchell, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Terell Tate, Camiya Nichols and Tim Roman. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jeanetta Eggerson, J.C. Mitchell and Corine (Fred) Livermon; step-granddad, Bonith Eggerson. The family would like to express special thanks to Peggy Stribling, Patricia Walker, the Seaman, Clark, Burton and Bolton families, and Hurley Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Ebenezer Cemetery Windsor, Va. Viewing will take place 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.
