Linda Johnson Lacey 73, transitioned from this life on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Bons Secours Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA.
Linda Darnell Lacey was born in Chesapeake, Va. on September 21, 1950 to Beatrice Johnson and John L. Johnson.
Linda worked many years as a cook at Frank's Truck stop, Virga's Pizza, and was a Manager at Burger King. She then opened her Medical Transport Business in 2000 where she then retired. She was also a faithful member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ Holiness USA, where she spent most of her time dedicated to helping the homeless, teaching Vacation Bible School and singing in the choir.
Linda was a loving, sweet and kind-hearted woman who loved God and her family. She was there to help everyone who needed her.
She is preceded in death by her mother: Beatrice Johnson, her father, John L. Johnson and two brothers; John L. Johnson and Roy Johnson.
Linda is survived by her husband Paul Lacey her daughter Latricia Brown, three step-children (Paul, Wanda and Tony), her sisters and brothers Patsy Armistead (Jerry), Celestine Lacey (John) Christine Johnson, Gloria White, Jean Mitchell, Michael Johnson (Adraine) and Rudolph Johnson.
She also leaves to cherish her memories 5 grandchildren; Tonnette Stokes (Demonte), Antonio Brown (Shaquita), Lakia Brown (Tamika), Linda Brown-Pope (Marcus), Calvin Brown (Kierris) and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
On Wednesday, July 24, 2024 viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Greater Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church, 3110 Deep Creek Blvd. Portsmouth, 23704 . A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Church. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd. Chesapeake , Va. Please keep the Lacey family in your thoughts and prayers.
