Lillie V. Greene ,85, transitioned to be with the Lord on Wed, Feb. 19, 2014, at her home on 129 Lane Crescent, Smithfield Va.
She was born May 12, 1928, to the late Thadeous and Hunters Zulean Joyner. She was a native of Smithfield Va. She attended Isle of Wight Training School, IOW, Va. Lillie took pride in being the woman of her home for many years, and loved taking care of her family and home. She was employed at Jones Grill as a cook, working beside her best friends of over 50 years Maurice Seaborne. Lillie was known to her customers and friends as "Boss Lady". "Botley" and "Bot Bot".
"Boss Lady" was a devoted Mother, Mother - in - Law, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie and friend. She had a special love for people and would always make you laugh. Everyone looked forward to eating from "Botley's kitchen. (Especially her home made rolls). She had a heart of pure gold, she was an awesome lady.
Lillie was preceded in death by her husband George T. Greene, Sr. "Geechie", son George Thomas Greene, Jr,. "GT", 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Greda T. Sheppard, Son-In-Law, Robert L. Sheppard, Jr., her only Daughter - in - Law, Cemini Johnson Greene, 1 devoted, loving, and protective sister, Arletta Hawks, a devoted and caring sister-in-law/best friend, Jacqueline Joyner, 3 grandchildren, Gershon, George, and Kia. 3 great grandchildren, Kymoria, Nigel, and Kylmari, a host of adopted children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
