Lester Charles Judkins

Mr. Lester Charles Judkins was born on September 30, 1949 to the late David O. Judkins, Sr. and Frances H. Judkins in Surry County, Virginia. On Friday, December 17, 2021, our beloved Lester entered eternal rest and peace at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Bell Judkins and brother Otis T. Judkins. Lester and Ruby were blessed with two loving children, Marcus and LaDonna Judkins. Lester lived in Surry County, Virginia and attended L.P. Jackson High School in Dendron, Virginia. He was a graduate of L. P. Jackson High School Class of 1971. Lester accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at an early age. He joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and served in the Usher Ministry. Lester was employed with Virginia Power Station. He furthered his career at Fort Lee in Prince George, Virginia and retired after many years of service. He was also employed by Surry County School System as a School Bus Driver. Lester enjoyed being busy by doing yard work, working on vehicles, riding his motorcycle, fishing, sewing, fixing up things, spending time with his grandchildren and attending sporting events. He was detail-oriented, always on time, and dependable. Most of all, Lester had a kind heart for helping whoever he encountered. Lester leaves to cherish his memories, his children Marcus (Tasha) and LaDonna Judkins of Surry, Virginia; four beautiful grandchildren, Isaiah, Alaysia, Londyn, and Elijah; one sister, Ruby Judkins of Surry, Virginia and seven brothers, Theodore Judkins of Newark, N.J.; David Judkins, Jr. (Marshall) of Surry, Virginia; Nelson Judkins (Angelina) of Newport News, Virginia; Welton Judkins (Carol) of Chesterfield, Virginia; Curtis Judkins of Surry, Virginia; Calvin Judkins (Brenda) of Jefferson, Georgia and Randolph Judkins of Dale City, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Bell of Surry, Virginia and Arlean Parker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Sylvester Newby and Alvin Parker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a special God-daughter, Sherrond Bell and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Surry, Virginia.
