God in his infinite love heard our father's prayer and granted him rest Sunday, September 27, 2020 from labor to reward. Larry A. Robinson was born to the late Lucy Batten and Richard Robinson on December 2, 1937. He was reared in the community of Carrollton, VA and educated in Isle of Wight County Public Schools. Larry enlisted in the U. S. Army.On August 8, 1959 he married the love of his life, Delma Williams, they were blessed to have four children from the union; Larry retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding Co. after thirty-nine years of service. He was a master gardener and shared his harvest with his family and community. As a child, Mr. Robinson accepted the Lord as his Saviorjoined and was a faithful member of Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church Carrollton, VA. Later in life, he joined Christian Home Baptist Church Windsor, VA where he was faithful in attendance and served on the ushers and trustee ministries. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Delma; his parents; a sister; Thelma and his brothers; Nathaniel, Michael and Bainbridge. Larry leaves precious memories and a legacy with his family, his faithful and devoted children, Larry Robinson (Kathy) of North Chesterfield, VA, Kevin Robinson (Artistine) of Suffolk, VA, Lynette Batten (Tony) of Smithfield, VA, and Andrea Walton of Suffolk, VA; His loving grandchildren Devin Dash, Rev. Brandon Hall (Monica), Kevin Brian Robinson, Katina Robinson, Chantel Morris and Jamico Seward; three great granddaughters; one brother Dennis Batten (Anna); three sisters Jackie Dinkins, Bernice Dates, and Gilda Conway all of Baltimore, MD; three godchildren Willie Mae Crocker, Dr. Morry Brown, and Tarmeka Pierce; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Life Celebration will be held 2 pm Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Public Viewing will take place from 4-6pm Friday, October 2, 2020.
