Larry Carnell Chapman entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2023 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. Larry was a native of Isle of Wight County, born on July 29, 1949. Larry attended school in Windsor Virginia and resided in Portsmouth Virginia. At an early age, Larry joined Chapel Grove United Church of Christ in Windsor, Virginia. Larry loved classic cars and classic music. His joy was sharing good times with select family and friends.
Larry was predeceased by his wife Hazel Wilkerson Chapman, his mother Mazie B. Chapman, father Winston Evans and sister Elsie Louise Chapman. He leaves to cherish his memory, a son Larry Lynn Davis (Cynthia), one bonus daughter, Phyllis Wilkerson, 4 grandsons Coradarius, Ja-Tavien, Larry Jr, and Nigel Davis, two bonus granddaughters JaQaye and Tameka Wilkerson, 5 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, two brothers Melvin Evans and Gregory Chapman, one sister Joice Chapman, two sisters in law, three brothers in law, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday January, 25, 2023 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Dr. K.D. Shivers will officiate and give the eulogy. Burial will be private. Please keep the Chapman family in your family.
