Keith L. Oddman

September 7, 1936 — June 6, 2017

Keith L Oddman was born 9/7/1936 in Kingston Jamaica W.I. he was raised in the Shortwood area. He attended Shortwood School and this is where he found his love of Art. Through this he was mentored by Roy Allen and he would discover his love of the camera. He could speak on photography for hours if you'd let him. In 1954, he started work at Rag Winter a photography studio, this is where he really knew what he wanted to do in life. He was a master behind the camera. It was also while working there that he would meet his future wife Mildred Aarons, they married 2Jul 1960. From this union 4 children were produced, Jacqueline, Allison, Kevin (deceased), Keith. In 1966 Keith migrated to the United States (Brooklyn NY). He worked at menial jobs until he was hired at American Photo, and he also drove the infamous NYC yellow cabs. He did this for many years. His photography skill could be seen at many wedding, anniversary and all types of celebrations. He was the man behind the camera and was a perfectionist (which drove his family crazy). He worked for New York City Transit, from which he retired with 20 years of service due to illness Although he would really miss Brooklyn and its fast pace; he relocated to Carrolton, VA to be closer to his daughter and her family. He spent his last 2 years with his beloved Mildred and came to appreciate the quiet that is VA. He would sit for hours listening to good music. He leaves to mourn his wife of 57 years Mildred, daughters Jacqueline Braggs, Allison Holloway (Jeff), son, Keith Oddman Jr (Yolanda), daughter of his heart Margaret Patterson, sister Carol Rose (Bill), brother Frank Minott (Mel), grandchildren: Tarike (Kendra), Nicole, Kwame, Keion, Giovanni, Michael, Jadia, Najah, Keyana, Kevin, Keith and 12 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; devoted friends Peter Lewin, Lloyd Johnson and Vivienne Sewell and many more; predeceased by his children Kevin Oddman and Denise Oddman.
