Judy A. Livermon

A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, laughter, the song and the good life I lived while I was strong.

Miss Judy Ann Livermon was born on July 13, 1949 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Fred Sr. and Corrine Holloway. Judy A. Livermon transitioned from this life Sunday January 19, 2025 in Newport News, VA. 

Judy decided to move out of Virginia in her early 20’s to venture out to California and then to New York where she lived for over twenty years. She was employed and worked for Rockland Psychiatric Center. She later retired and moved back to Virginia in 1988 to be close to her family. She worked at Gwaltney and retired at age 62.

Judy was well loved, full of life and was the life of the party. She was best known as “Pretty Judy” She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eula Livermon, and her two brothers Fred Livermon and Jimmy Livermon.

Judy leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Romona Livermon, Suffolk, Virginia, Cassandra Spratley (Curtis), Smithfield, VA and Clorice Clarke (Ervin), Newport News, Virginia, seven grandchildren La’Shandra (Charles), Shelton, Dorian, Shaquanna, Amber (James), Ashja and Adrianna; thirteen great grandchildren, three sisters; Shirley Holloway, Smithfield, Virginia, Otto Holmes, Rushmere, Virginia and Ella Spratley, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, three nieces that were close to her, Deborah Livermon, Veronica Johnson and Dawn Livermon; a host of nieces and nephews and four former coworkers that still remain friends with her; Stephanie Turner, Aretha Scott, Betty Wiggins and Marilyn Mizell.

On Wednesday January 22, 2025 from 3-6 pm viewing will take place at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Shivers Funeral  Chapel. Interment will be private. Please keep the Livermon family in your thoughts and prayers.
