Jessie C. Croker

Jessie C. Croker transitioned from this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Jessie C. Croker was born December 12, 1954, in Isle of Wight County, Virginia to the late Jessie Lee Croker and Harriett Pinner Batten. He was the second of five children. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie, mother, Harriett, and two sisters, Carol Brodie and Mazie Wilson. Jessie accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Bethany Christian Church. Jessie was a graduate of Smithfield High School. He worked in Construction until his illness. On June 20, 1987, Jessie was joined in marriage to Victory E. Parker. The couple would have celebrated 35 years together Monday. Jessie enjoyed family and friends. Jessie was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed life. He was one who was meek and humble. We can easily say, "Jessie was Jessie". Jessie leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Victory; two sisters, Saundra Smith and Charlene Chandler; one niece, Ariele Smith; three nephews, Christian Chandler, Devin Brodie, and Jeff Chandler; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Parker and Priscilla Campbell (Percy, Jr.); two brothers-in-law, Mel Parker (Stephanie) and Juan D. Parker (Valerie) and a host of other relatives and friends. Jessie, his smile and friendship will be truly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Shivers Funeral Chapel.
