Jerry L. Boyce

Jerry Lee Boyce entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2017 at his residence. Jerry was born on April 8, 1959 to the late Fred Giles and Ruth Jarrett. He received his education at Westside High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and truly believed in the Lord. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and friend. He truly enjoyed life until his health failed. He was strong until the end. Jerry was preceded in death by parents; Fred Giles and Ruth Jarrett, brother; Charles Boyce, two sisters; Ruby Clemons and Ellen Claggett. Jerry departs this life leaving memories to his wife; Jennifer Boyce, daughters; Sharica Parker of Smithfield, VA. and Shere Crudup (Laron) of Newport News, VA. sons; Jerry Winslow of Maryland, Darnelle Boyce of Newport News, VA and Travis Wooten of Smithfield, VA. brothers; Frederick Boyce of Suffolk, VA and Rufus Boyce (Yvonne) of Newport News, VA. sisters; Drucilla Goodman of Carrollton, VA., Cherry James (Vince) of Williamsburg, VA., Bernadette Boone (Randy) of Suffolk, VA., Darnelle Jefferson of Smithfield, VA. and Diane Womble of Windsor, VA. A loving mother in law; Effie Wooten of Smithfield, VA. and father in law; Hope Spratley of Houston, TX. Seven sisters in laws and two brother in laws. Four grandchildren, two god-daughters and one god- granddaughter. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Special friends of the family; Lucy Mae Spivey-Smith, June Little, Kenny Spivey, and Omar Taliaferro and loving step mother; Joyce Williams and step grandmother; Maxine Spivey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the chapel. Interment will be private. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
