James 'Bud' Colbert

March 28, 1952 — January 18, 2015

James "Bud" Colbert, Sr. ,62, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, January 18,2015. He was greeted at Heaven's Gate by his father and mother, Benjamin Colbert, Sr. and Elizabeth Blow; his brother, Benjamin "Peter" Colbert and his sister, Lena Warren. He leaves behind a host of family and friends to celebrate his life. His wife of 22 years, Deborah Bailey Colbert; his brothers, Ronnie (Evelyn) Blow, Alexander Blow, Nathaniel (Mary) Blow; his sister, Phyllis Simmons; his children, James Colbert, Jr. and Alisa Colbert; and his step-children Kenneth (Rebecca) Bailey, Keith (Lorrie) Bailey, and Nyanza Bailey, Sr. He also leaves 8 loving grandchildren, Brandon Colbert, Tre'shawn Bailey, Trinity Bailey, Tyrese Colbert, Nyanza Bailey, Jr., Bethany Bailey, Kayla Bailey, and Tyra Colbert. Joining the celebration will be his 12 nieces, Rose, Sharon, Delphine , Vanessa, Annette, Tina, Tonya, Brittany, Latoya, Desere', Patricia, and Felicia, as well as, his nephew, Charles. Numerous friends and family will join in remembering James at Shiver's Funeral Home in Smithfield Virginia. His viewing will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 4:00pm -7:00pm and the Celebration of Life Service willbe at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor at 1:00 PM on Friday.
