Smithfield: James Benjamin Parker Sr , 95 passed away June 16, 2015 in Waverly Health & Rehab. Center. Ben was born May 29, 1920 in Sussex County, Va. to the late Bennie and Ada Brown Parker the youngest of four children. Ben was educated in the Sussex County public School System. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church Ivor, a World War II veteran of the Navy, and he retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. Ben was married to the late Maude Mason Parker and the late Lottie Holmes Parker, others that preceded him in death was his two daughters Jacqueline Parker and Cynthia Ann Woodberry; a daughter-in-law Cinda Parker; two sisters Eugene Massenburg and Rolene Hinton; one brother Lone Parker. His survivors include eight daughters Daisy Ruffin(Edward), Willie Mae Ruffin(Charlie), Inell Sanders(James), Mildred Collins(Otis), Debra Malosh(Richard), Annie Parker, Josephine Pittman(Jerry), Mary Parker; two sons Jesse Parker(Constance), James Benjamin Parker Jr.(Donna); one step-daughter Mildred Coleman; one step-son John Coleman; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of life service be held at 11am Saturday June 20, 2015 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing Friday from 4-7pm Friday. Interment will be held 10am Monday, June 22, 2015 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Veteran Cemetery, Suffolk. Arrangements by Shivers Funeral Chapel. Burial Date June 20, 2015
