James A. Allen, Jr.

James A. Allen, Jr. transitioned from this life on Monday, March 22, 2021 at his residence.

On June 3^rd, 1950, in a town of Nansemond County Suffolk VA., The late James Arthur Allen Sr & Bessie Mae Allen graced the world with their 1^st born son JAMES ARTHUR ALLEN JR.

James affectionally known as "BOY", at an early age worked the farms and in the field's to help provide and help his family. Years later, he worked at the Newport News Shipyard as well as Smithfield Packing Company for many years. His trade was in bricklaying and construction.

James is preceded in death by his parents James Arthur Allen, Sr. and Bessie Mae Allen along with two brothers, Thomas Lee Allen and Larry Allen as well a son Simeon Allen.

He leaves to cherish in memory 11 siblings, Beatrice Fulgham (Fletcher), Virginia Harden, Carrol Allen, Abigail Allen-Boone, Joseph Allen, David Allen (April), Gene Allen (Lavern), Thurman Allen (Dorothy), Lester Allen and Kenneth Allen (Lisa).

He leaves behind his children; Nicole Allen- Brown (Steven), James A. Allen, III (Katina), Dezsrie Spencer (Chad), Latoya McCain (Fred), Latosha Allen, Sean Allen, and Sheena Allen. James leaves 15 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

James had a very strong personality and he was a force to be reckoned with. His laughter and beautiful smile will be greatly missed.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mr. Allen is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Allen family in your thoughts and prayers.
