Jacqulyn Jossett Wilson Johnson answered the call to eternal rest Saturday April 27, 2024 in Portsmouth, VA.
Jacqulyn a beloved daughter of Herbert Vann Wilson and Lillie Frances Whitaker Wilson was born March 7, 1956. She was a 1974 graduate of Smithfield High School in Isle of Wight County, VA.
Having a call to service, Jacqulyn served in the United States Army from 1975-1979 and was honorably discharged. She had specialized training and held Licenses and certificates as a Commercial Driver and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed her work as it was an opportunity to serve others. Her last employment was with Riverside Convalescent Center as a CNA. She was a member of Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church, Carrollton, VA.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her favorite book was the Bible and she loved spreading the “good News” to others
Jacqulyn was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Shirley and Phyliss.
Her surviving family are her daughters; DeShea and Shante (Doug) grandchildren; MJ and Icyss, nieces, Pamela (Ricky) Sharon and Nicole; grandnieces, Shiraine, Nikole, Somalia and Jysiah; grandnephew Darrel, great- great nephew Kole; goddaughter, Shanice; brother-in-law Roland, lifelong best friend Gracie; grandog Jackie and a host of other relatives and friends.
We will always cherish her memory and keep her in our hearts.
On Friday, May 03, 2024 viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 04, 2024. Interment following the service in the church cemetery.Friday, May 3, 2024
