Henry "Monk" Burroughs II, son of Emma McCray & Henry Burroughs of South Carolina was born on January 24, 1953 in Plainfield NJ. He was educated in various fields in the Essex/Union County schools in New Jersey andalso attended Lincoln Tech. School in Union New Jersey.Later Henrymoved to South Carolinaand Washington making Virginia his home. Henry wasalwaysa hard worker. He became known for his precise painting jobs throughout Virginia. His work spoke for itself. His wonderful employerand friends, Steve, Ronnie andGlenn can't be touched in that area. We believe that he was the best in the state. Diversity was Monk's forte as he worked at Emeloid Industry for many years, also at the East Orange General hospital to namefew in NJ. Monk left his legacy & knowledge of music to every ear that heard him sing. His love & respect for music came from a early age. Having attended the NYC School of Music just ignited his obsession with the sound of music. Musicality is in our blood literallyand it's hereditary and genuine. Henry played guitar, drums andthe keyboard. He wrote music as well. Dancing, singing, rapping is added to the wonderful ray of happiness he showered us all with. Yes, Monk did it all. You knew when he walked into the room because it became alive. His endless laughter, love andsmiles would illuminate any room. He always cared more about others more than himself. Just an all around wonderful guy, you couldn't help but admire. Henry was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Smithfield, Virginia. He was recently baptized by his pastor & friend Rev. Dr. James Harrison. He was also a member of TheMen of Music of that church.
