Hazel Mae Hill, was born on December 1, 1936 in Smithfield, Virginia. She departed this life on March 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents James Hill and Georgia Anna Hill (Davis). Hazel received her education at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from high school in 1953 she was employed at Western Electric in which she remained for 30 years until she retired in 1983. She was married to the late Bernard Frisby who preceded her in death and from this union Michael was born. She later married Mitchell Smith, Sr. and from this union Maurice was born. Hazel loved spending time with her family in Virginia, watching soap operas; her favorite was "The Young and the Restless". She loved going out to eat at different restaurants and wearing men's sneakers. Hazel loved to bake and to watch people eat. She leaves to cherish her memory - two sons Michael Frisby, Maurice Smith, daughter-in-law Leticia Smith, five grandchildren - Maurice Jr., Chasity, Charity, Courtne and Kendall, one great granddaughter Monae Smith, one god daughter - Ursula Robinson, one aunt Rose Parker and cousins and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Friday March 18, 2016 from 10am - 1pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2pm at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Windsor, Va.
