On Sunday September 16, 2018 Gregory Lorenzo Diggs transitioned into eternal rest surrounded by his family and friends at Obici Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 4, 1961 to James and Frances Turner. He was a long time resident of Smithfield, VA until moving to Franklin, VA were he resided until his death. He was known as "Greg, Henry, Marlow, and Birdman" to his family and friends. He was a man of many talents and was always the life of the family gathering with his bird on his shoulder and his magic tricks. He was loved and will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his son Lorenzo Antwan Diggs, his grandparents Thomas and Corine Diggs and Alma Turner Edwards, Alberta Turner Johnson and Odessa Diggs Cypress, one uncle Thomas Pig Diggs. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents James and Frances Turner of Smithfield, VA; his fianc Mary Delk of the home. His wife Lorretta Diggs, son Gregory Diggs, Jr, step son Cory Washington, step daughters Coretta King and Shakeyta Ricks. His siblings Ivan Diggs Sr

Aunts Catherine Finney, Stella Finney, Doreatha Turner, Lillian Weaver and Mildred Redmond. One uncle Calvin Diggs (Vanessa), a great-uncle Charlie Spratley (Darlene). Nieces, Sauvora, Miranda, Shalonda, Tanisha, Dekeysha, Derrell and Jaleesa. Nephews, Lamont, Ivan Jr. and Richard. A host of great-nephews & nieces, cousins, and friends. A special cousin Linda Harris and a special friend and caregiver Wendy Crocker. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Friday September 21, 2018 at Main Street Baptist Church Smithfield, VA. Viewing will take place Thursday September 20, 2018 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Professional services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel Smithfield, VA.
