Gracie M. Spratley

Gracie Mae Spratley was called home on September 26, 2022 at her residence in Windsor, VA.

She was the daughter of Luther Elder and Elsie Mae Eley. She was born on March 19, 1942 in Suffolk, Virginia. Gracie held jobs throughout her life as a homemaker and farm laborer. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Spratley, sons Bonney Spratley Jr., and Dennis Spratley, brother Luther Elder Jr., and Will Holmes. She leaves to cherish her memory, four children Diane Spratley from Carrollton, Va., Joyce Spratley from Smithfield, Va., Bernard Spratley(Wendy) from Surry, Va., Betty Spratley from Smithfield, Va., sister Viola Woodson from Ivor, Va., eight grandchildren Antwain Spratley, LaTonya Spratley, Maurice Spratley, Howard Thomas, III, Michael Spratley, LaVelle Spratley, Tamara Spratley, Christopher Urquhart; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Smithfield, VA 23430. Viewing will take place from 3-6pm Monday October 3, 2022 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment following service at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
