Glenwood Aldonia Jenkins entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was born November 1,1938, the fourth child of Willie George Savage and Celestine Edwards Savage. Glen attended Isle of Wight Training School, and upon her early retirement from General Electric, attended Obici Nursing School, completing her Nursing Assistant Certification. Glen enjoyed her retirement years. Highlights consist of her volunteer work with the AIDS Foundation, travels with her sisters Vivian and Jean, and her love of working in her flower beds. In Glen's last years of life, she battled Alzheimer's with a courageous spirit, and with a heightened sense of innocence and love. She never loss her sense of humor and her zeal for life. Glen was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Jenkins, her parents Celestine Edwards Savage and Willie G. Savage, her sisters Constance Savage Scott and Vivian Savage Stitch, and bothers Willie Burdette Savage and Rudolph Savage. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Keith Jenkins (Mabel); daughters Michelle Jenkins, Andrea Spratley; three grandsons, Blake Spratley, Bryant Jenkins, Brenden Jenkins; siblings Ardith Addison, Debra Williams, Burnadette Owens (Quintin), Cynthia Jones, Sherlon Savage, Linda) and sister/best friend Jean Uzzle, as well a host of relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Tuesday, March 07, 2017 at Little Zion Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Monday, March 06, 2017 at the Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Smithfield, Va. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
