Floyd R. Davis Sr.

February 26, 1939 — July 23, 2014

Mr. Floyd R. Davis Sr. departed this life on July 23, 2014 at Norfolk General Hospital. He was born to the late Mondoza and Annie Greene Davis on February 26, 1939. He was baptized at New Branch Baptist Church at early age. He worked at Gowen Chemical until retirement. During his retirement he enjoyed taking care of his elders and visiting family and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother Rivie C. Davis.Left to cherish his memory two sons, Floyd R. Davis Jr. (Rosalind), Ivor, VA, and Larry D. Davis, Windsor, Virginia. Two grandchildren: Donnell J. Davis, Surry VA, and Alexus Davis, Emporia, Virginia. One great grandchild Miracle P. Hobbs, two sisterCarlene Nathan, Suffolk, VA ; Deloris Hamlin(Alvin), White Plain , NY and one brother, Mondoza Davis III, Petersburg, VA, three sister-in-laws; Florine Poole (Ernest) Surry, Virginia, Ellen Young (Frank) Surry, Virginia and Annie B. Davis, Petersburg, Virginia and one brother in-law, Hurley L. Holloman Sr. (Francine), Smithfield, Virginia.A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friend. A service of celebration will be held 12pm Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield by Rev. Dr. K. D. Shivers. Interment will be held in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Ivor. Arrangements by Shivers Funeral Chapel.

Burial Date July 29, 2014

A service of celebration will be held 12pm Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield by Rev. Dr. K. D. Shivers. Interment will be held in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Ivor.
