Evoria Joe Walton

Mrs. Evoria Joe Walton, 88, transitioned from this earthly journey on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at her residence. She was born to the late Lenore Vick Joe and Ashby Joe, Sr. on March 16, 1935, in Suffolk, Virginia.

She attended and graduated from The East Suffolk High School and Maryland Eastern Shore University, Baltimore, Maryland.

She was employed with J. F. Kennedy Teacher, General Electric Co., City of Suffolk dispatcher for the Fire Department. She retired from Norshipco “aka” Bay Systems.

She was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church, its Golden Age Ministry, and Choir Ministry.

Evoria was a Golden State Warriors basketball fan. She loved to dress and travel.

Evoria was preceded in death by two siblings Elnora Bradley and Ashby Joe, Jr.

Evoria is survived by her son James; sisters Carolyn Wilson and twin sisters Delores Wilmer Chappell and Doris Wilmer; three brothers Larry, Tyrone, and Ronnie Wilmer; two nieces Annette Watkins and Rachel Knight and a host of other relatives and friends that will treasure her memory.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Carver Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk, Va.  Viewing will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2023 form 3-6 pm at the Chapel.  Please keep the Joe-Walton family in your prayers.
