Elsie B Marrow

Elsie Blount Marrow transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the home of her beloved "son" Victor C. Langhorne, Sr. in Newport News, VA. Born August 1, 1922, she is the only child of the late James Ural and Mary Herring Blount. She is a graduate of the Isle of Wight Training School and Fayetteville State Teaching College. As a life-long resident of Smithfield, Elsie retired after approximately 40 years of teaching in the Isle of Wight County Public School System. She is survived by a host of loved ones. All who experienced her special brand of love, encouragement and joy will cherish her memory. The family will receive visitors and expressions of love at 315 63^rd St., Newport News, VA. A celebration of her life will be held at noon on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Brown's AME Church, 657 Main St., Smithfield, VA. Services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Home.
