Elsie Louise Mann (Jordan) Porter of Newport News, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Richard L. Porter and her parents Howard Mann, Sr. and Louise Mann. Mother Porter was a member of Bridge of Life Christian Fellowship Church in Suffolk, Virginia, and former First Lady of Faith Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. Elsie loved the Lord. She was dedicated to her family and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Elsie leaves to cherish her memory her children Quindell Hatton of Newport News, Virginia, Valerie Hill (John) of Hampton, Virginia, Wilbert Jordan (Sheila) of Newport News, Virginia, Miles Jordan (Deborah) of Suffolk, Virginia, Chonda Liggins (Lloyd) of Newport News, Virginia, and Darleen Jordan of Hampton, Virginia; her step children Robin Porter (Jacqueline) of Chesterfield, Virginia, Wade Porter (Gussie) of Hartford, Conneticut, and Faye Porter of Newport News, Virginia; her siblings George Odom (Juanita), Johnny Odom, Ronald Odom, Willie Odom (Doretha), Bertha Wiggins (Cornelius), Catherine Marshall (Alvin), Audrey Backman and Denise Odom, Alberta Hedgepeth (Cyrus), Mildred Olds, both of Suffolk, Emma Perrine (Edward), of Philadelphia, Pa., Estelle Key (John), of Ohio, Vera Smith of Suffolk, and Reta Mann, of Texas, Howard Mann and George Mann of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and host of cousins and friends. Elise is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. The celebration of life service will be conducted 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia. ViewingSaturday, July 18, 2015 from 1-4pm at the funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Suffolk. Burial Date July 19, 2015
