Late in the evening of December 4, 2022, God extended his hand and invited Mrs. Elnora A Diggs to be one of his Angels. Elnora was born on October 23, 1942, in Isle of Wright County to the late George King and Elnora Taliaferro King Cornick. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Diggs; brothers; Lynwood Taliaferro, Miles Kings, Arthur Cornick Jr., Robert James Cornick; and sisters Vera Tynes, Vasti Lankford, and Gladys M. King; one granddaughter Aziha Zhane’ Diggs and daughter-in-law Alisia Diggs whom she truly loved.
Elnora obtained her education from Isle of Wight school system, and later obtained her CNA certificate from P D Pruden Technical School in Suffolk, VA. She retired from ITT Gwaltney Inc. of Smithfield, VA, she also retired from Maryview Medical Center as a CNA, and worked for several years as a Care Companion with HCC Personal Care Inc, Windsor, VA. Our mom Elnora, also known as; NoAnn, No Pop, Mrs. Diggs, and Meemaw, has always been a loving person with a Big Heart. She was always willing to lend a hand when needed. She loved taking care of her family and others, which we believe led her to her career as a caregiver. She had a passion for cooking, and making her famous sweet potato pies, sweet potato jacks, and rice pudding just to name a few. She also loved to dance and have a good time. Mom had a heart of Gold but did not play when it came to family and especially her grandkids. To know her was to truly Love Her.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters LaTonia Donahue (Patrick) of Orlando, FL, Vickie Jones (Varian) of Smithfield, VA, and one son Anthony Diggs (Deborah) of Goldsboro, NC.; three siblings George King Jr.(Anita) of West Point, NY, Mckinley Cornick of Portsmouth, VA, and Lionel Cornick (Argerine) of Smithfield, VA.
