Elder Louis Mallory, Sr.

November 28, 1942 — July 6, 2024

Louis McKinley Mallory Sr., 81 entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at home in Hampton, Virginia. He was born to the late Deacon Gastion Mallory and Mother Nevolia Mallory on November 28, 1942. Louis accepted Jesus at an early age and joined Mount Tabor Church of God in Christ in Smithfield, Virginia. This Mighty Man of God was called to pastor Christian Charites Deliverance Church in Ivor, Virginia where he served for over ten years. The Lord later led Elder Mallory, with his son and daughter-in-love, Pastors Lorenzo and Tracy Mallory, to serve at Greater Dimensions Kingdom Ministries in Suffolk, Virginia.

Elder Mallory loved serving God and the people of God. Along with serving as Assistant Pastor at Mount Tabor, he became a choir member; he taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Wednesday Night Bible Study and was a leader of the Young People's Willing Workers. Under Bishop Samuel Green, Elder Mallory served in several offices at local and state levels.

Elder Mallory was faithful to his calling even when his health began to fail. He attended services faithfully until he was unable to do so.

Elder Mallory is a retired employee of Huntington Ingalls Industries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston and Nevolia Mallory; his devoted wife of over forty-five years, Frances Mallory; his eldest son, Louis Mallory, Jr.; and his sister, Eunice Henderson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Lorenzo Mallory, Jr, (Tracy) of Suffolk, Va; two daughters, Gwendolyn Pierce, (Welton) of Carrollton, VA and Teresa Turner, (Victor) of Hampton, VaA; seven grandchildren, Lorenzo Mallory, Jr. (Shanita), Shaana Thomas (Christopher), Joshua Pierce, Desiree Pierce, and Victor Turner, Il, Alicia Turner and Keishua Turner; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Edna M. Hollway of Nevada; Aunt Velma Addison; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

His life and Legacy will continue to live on end we will always remember him for his famous words: "It's Just Nice to be Nice." and that's what he was until his passing.

On Friday, July 12, 2024 Viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. At 11am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at Mt. Tabor C.O.G.I.C.  13468 Waterworks Rd, Smithfield, VA 23430. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Tabor COGIC Cemetery. Please keep the Mallory family in your prayers.
