These are the units to measure the worth of a man, regardless of birth. - Anonymous Edward Lorenzo Greene departed this life to be with the Lord on September 9, 2016. A native of Smithfield, Virginia, "Lorenzo" was born June 15, 1963, at Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia, to Portia Williams Greene and Elmer Ray Greene. He attended Smithfield High School, where he played nose guard on the football team and was affectionately known as "Disco Lo". In his early days, he was involved in Boy Scout Troop 361. He was a member of the Little Zion Baptist Church, where he faithfully served on the Usher Board until his death. His favorite sayings were "Tell the Lord thank you" and "10-4". He was always the life of the party and was known to put a smile on everyone's face. He loved his family and his friends. He was very skillful with his hands and worked as a construction worker with Mitchell Utilities, LLC. Lorenzo leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Elmer and Portia Green; his children; Erica Williams (Anthony) of Norfolk, VA; Juan Bugg of Greensboro, NC and Marcal Spratley of Smithfield, VA. Also left behind to mourn his loss are his siblings; Elmer Leroy Green (Denise) of Suffolk, VA, Felecia Michelle Smith of Windsor, Va; his grandchildren, Aniyla Williams, Camryn Pruden, Abagail Williams, Arell Williams, Allex Williams, and Allexus Williams; his aunts Lizzie M. Williams (Robert), Helena Urquhart, Mary Gibbs, Sarah W. Bell, Dinah W. McCullough, Linda W. Bright (Stevie); his uncles, John O. Newby (JoAnn), Robert Williams (Lizzie), James Williams, Rev. Willie Lee Williams (Harriett), Clinton Lewis Williams, Melvin J. Williams, and Ralph Williams (Amanda); his niece Nicole White (Terrell); his nephews, Leon Smith, Jr., Lavone Green, and Laroy Green; a host of cousins and friends; and one special friend, Sandra Debnam. our precious son is with you, And there will be a day, that we too will leave this earth, and you will light our way.
