Life Reflection “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 ESV On June 2, 2022, God called Doris Johnson Harris into eternal rest at her residence in Windsor, VA. She was born to the late Reddick Johnson and Elizabeth Robertson Johnson in Smithfield, Virginia on January 24, 1939. Doris was educated in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. She furthered her education in New York becoming a CNA at Mayfair Nursing Home, Hempstead, New York. She returned to Smithfield after the death of her mother. She was a former member of First Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Smithfield, Virginia. She was a Foster Parent in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and would do anything for her family, she will be truly missed, she was loved by her children and grandchildren. She would always praise God even though she was in pain she would sing a spiritual song and would always say Jesus was her Lord and Savior. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Billy Ray Harris and brothers, Riddick Johnson, Jr. and Robert Johnson. Doris leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Florinda Johnson and Deborah (Miles) Jordan; seven grandchildren: Shameika Baldwin (Ramon) Whitfield, Cory Jordan, Tamiah Jordan, Ronnie Jordan, Alijah Jordan, Amere Jordan, and Ariyah Jordan; seven great-grandchildren: Kevin Baldwin, Keyshon Baldwin, Khamya Baldwin, Kobey Baldwin, Ja’kye Clarke, Aaron Graves and Temple Williams; one great-great-grandchild, Ma’layah Baldwin; two brothers: Ralph Johnson, and Frank Johnson, five sisters: Betty (Ralph) Blow, Gloria Shivers, Mildred Thomas, Regina Holloway, and Juliet Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Wednesday, June 08, 2022 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, June 07, 2022 from 3-6pm at the chapel.
