The Life and Legacy of Dianne
Dianne Latressa Blount, born on January 10, 1971, to Veronica Blount and the late Joseph Lee Blount, Jr., entered eternal rest on July 27, 2024, at her home in Guyton, Georgia. Despite her courageous battle with stage 4 bladder cancer, she emerged victorious in spirit, fighting valiantly until the very end.
Dianne attended Smithfield High School and earned an associate degree in medical administration from Virginia College.
Preceding her in death were her father and two sons, DeAndre Thomas and Blaize Parker.
Known for her loving and caring nature, Dianne made friends easily and had a special bond with her dog, Jax, her beloved companion. Her generosity was unmatched, always willing to give the shirt off her back. She was a true blessing to everyone who knew her.
Dianne's memory will be cherished by her mother, Veronica T. Boone of Smithfield, VA; four sons, Xavier Burton of Ft. Smith, AK, Bray Parker and Andrew Thomas of Smithfield, VA, and Cody Momon of Guyton, GA; two sisters, Joanne Major (Keith) of Irmo, SC, and Jomaine Blount of Woodbridge, VA; one brother, Joseph Blount (Aishah) of Woodbridge, VA; eight grandchildren, Ashia and Armari Burton of Ft. Smith, AK, Ahmauri, Ayden, Noland, Mason, and Braxton Parker of Suffolk, VA, and Nylah Thomas of Smithfield, VA; fiancé Tony Momon of Guyton, GA; eight nieces, Brittany and Jurnee Major of Irmo, SC, Jayla Carter, Trinidee, Talesha, Yasmeen, Imani, and Amira Blount of Woodbridge, Va; three nephews, Trey Battle and Jelonni and Yusef Blount of Woodbridge, Va; one great-niece, Theori Major of Irmo, Sc; one great-nephew, Brixx Major of Irmo, Sc; aunts Beverly Gray, Joyce Copeland, Andrea Hall of Smithfield, VA, Gracie Holmes of Portsmouth, VA, Louise Fauntleroy, Shealler Perry of Surry, VA, Margaret Davis of Woodbridge, VA, and Gail Harris of Leland, NC; four uncles, George Blount of Smithfield, VA, Wayne Blount of Franklin, VA, Frank Blount of Brandywine, MD, and John Blount of Columbia, MD; and a host of close cousins, relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 PM Friday August 2, 2024 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1PM Saturday August 3, 2024. Interment will follow the service at Tynes Memorial Cemetery, Berry Hill Road, Smithfield, VA 23430. Please keep the Blount family in your thoughts and prayers.
