The Life of Deacon William Rosevelt Robinson
Deacon William Robinson (Aka Bull) was born March 6, 1944 to the late John and Laura Robinson in Chesapeake, Virginia. Deacon Robinson went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 31, 2024 at home.
Deacon Robinson retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after twenty-eight dedicated years as a Master Welder. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wakefield, Virginia under the former Pastoral Leadership of Reverend Leslie Holloway. You could always count on Deacon Robinson for a word of prayer. Deacon Robinson also sang with Oak Grove Baptist Male Chorus and loved practicing his guitar at home. Mr. Robinson was a very resourceful man. He had the ability to find quick and clever ways to solve a problem and overcome difficulties. He enjoyed doing yard work, cutting down trees, busting wood and doing mostly anything outside. Mr. Robinson loved keeping his automobiles cleaned and polished especially his 1969 Ford Mustang. He also enjoyed watching western movies and wrestling and cracking a joke or two with anyone he met.
Deacon Robinson is preceded in death by his daughter Elder Tracey S. Williams, two brothers Bertan White and Samuel Robinson and two sisters Catheryne Roberts and Rachel Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and dedicated wife of fifty-three years Shirley V. Robinson; two daughters Evangelist Darlean Whiting (Connell) and Evangelist Shanvonda Tynes; three sons Donnell Robinson, William L. Robinson (Sylvia) and Kendell Robinson (Jasmine); twelve grandchildren Donnell Jr., Jonathan, Joshua, Arieon, William Jr., Milliaw, Keion, Treyquan, Nevaeh Blessa, Nileah Bella, Mason, and Makena, four great grandchildren Karsyn, Kamryn, Josun, and Jace; one sister-in-law Alberta Robinson; two brothers-in-law Melvin and Ralph White (Martha) and a host of nieces and nephews, and neighbor and best friend Ronnie Brock of over fifty years. Although our hearts are heavy there is a comfort in knowing that his days of suffering are now over.
Even as his time here on earth was slipping away, Deacon Robinson was witnessing and declaring the glory of Jesus Christ and would often times tell his family to trust God.
