Darlene S. Frances

For His own purpose, and in His own way, God came into our family and called home for everlasting rest, our beloved Darlene Shirl Frances. She put her hands in God's hand and crossed over into the "Promise Land" peacefully at Sentara Nursing and Rehab Center at Hampton on Friday, May 5, 2017. She was born to the late Ellen Outley and late Fred Calloway on November 22, 1956 in Hampton, Virginia. Darlene attended Aberdeen Elementary School, Y. H. Thomas and Phoenix High School. . After graduation, she attended Kee's Business College. Darlene's employed years included working for the City of Hampton and Newport News Shipbuilding. Finally, she worked for UPS in Atlanta, Georgia until retirement. She was preceded in death by her mother Ellen Outley, her father Fred Calloway, 3 brothers William Francis, Richard T. Francis and Kenneth L. Francis. Her loving memories will forever be cherished by her daughter LaTonya Francis (special friend Charlie Tatum), sister Cecelia Wardell, brother Raymond G. Bryant, 3 grandchildren Unique Francis, Javon Parson, Ronqua Melvin and one great grandchild Jakari Parson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be from 4-7pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, Va. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
