Cheryl Towns Boone

Cheryl Towns Boone, 61 of Smithfield, VA went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2024. Cheryl was born January 9, 1963 to Eddie and Mildred Edwards Towns in Suffolk, VA. She graduated from Smithfield High School in 1980. Ms. Boone was employed by the Daily Press as an Administrative Assistant for 12 years.

 Ms. Boone was a member of the Moderine Social Club and had a passion for floral arrangements, jewelry and home interior decorating. Ms. Boone and her former husband Nigel Boone share one daughter Ashley Rene’ Boone and one granddaughter Kassidy Johnson. 

Ms. Boone is survived by her parents Eddie and Mildred Edwards Towns of Smithfield, VA, her daughter Ashley Rene' Boone, one granddaughter Kassidy Johnson, four brothers; Eddie Fitzgerald Towns (Christine) of Smithfield, VA, Rufus Towns of Smithfield, VA, Terry Towns of Suffolk, VA, Daniel Towns of North Carolina, two aunts; Linda Pratt of Richmond, VA, and Katie Parks of Suffolk, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The Viewing and Visitation will take place from 3-6-PM Monday, May 20, 2024 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Shivers Funeral Chapel with Elder Larry Gray, Officiating. 

Ms. Boone will be laid to rest at Hampton Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
